PRP for Hair Growth in Nepal

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapy for hair growth is a relatively newer treatment method in Nepal. Although it has recently found its use in hair regrowth and skin rejuvenation, it has well established role in treatment of injured ligaments, muscles and dentistry. Dr. Prakash Acharya, MD is one of the best dermatologists performing concentrated PRP treatment for hair in Nepal, having performed more than 600 PRP sessions with excellent results. Following are some of the many successful results with PRP treatment for hair performed by Dr. Prakash Acharya, MD at Reva Skin and Hair Clinic, Kathmandu.

Some Results of PRP Treatment
What does PRP do?

PRP contains various growth factors which stimulate new hair growth, strengthen the existing hairs and increase the thickness of individual hair strands. This results in a thicker and healthier hair.

What is the process of PRP treatment?

The treatment consists of drawing the patient’s blood, separating the platelet rich plasma from that blood and injecting it into the scalp.

How many sessions of PRP treatment are required?

Dr. Prakash Acharya recommends minimum of 4 sessions at a one-month interval (which means it will take 3 months to complete the treatment). Optionally, maintenance sessions can be done at 6/12 months interval.

Is PRP treatment painful?

Not much. The patients undergoing the treatment often describe the feeling as mild discomfort which is bearable. Furthermore, usually there is no post procedure pain, although some may experience a mild itching sensation for few days.

Does PRP treatment have any side effects?

Since the product is made from the patient’s own blood, there are usually no side effects if prepared properly. However, the process should be performed under aseptic conditions, as there is a chance of infection.

Are the beneficial effects of PRP treatment permanent?

Unlike the effects of topical treatments for hair loss, the effects of PRP treatment last longer and completing the minimum number of sessions is enough to see the results. The beneficial effects can be maintained by a single maintenance session at 6 or 12 months interval.

What is the cost of PRP treatment in Nepal?

The cost of PRP treatment ranges from NRs. 5000 to NRs. 10000 per session in Nepal. Offers and discounts applicable may be discussed at the Reva Skin and Hair Clinic, Kathmandu upon arrival.

Which is the best place for PRP treatment in Nepal?

Since the methods of PRP preparation may vary and the quality of the PRP product depends largely on the method of preparation, it is advisable to prepare the product strictly under the supervision of the doctor.

These issues are seriously considered during the PRP treatment at our centre making Reva Skin and Hair Clinic, Kathmandu the best clinic to perform the PRP treatment for hair growth in Nepal.
